Legal trainee

Are you interested in financing and more particularly in impact financing in emerging markets? At Finnfund we can offer you a unique opportunity to work with financing which helps fight climate change, improves the life of girls and women and creates many other development effects in the poorest countries of the world.

Finnfund is a development financier which builds a sustainable world by investing in responsible and profitable businesses in developing countries. We provide businesses operating in developing countries with risk capital, long-term investment loans, mezzanine financing and expertise in how to invest in the developing markets. We expect our projects to be profitable, socially and environmentally responsible and produce measurable development impact in their target countries.

We are now looking for a trainee to assist our legal team of six lawyers in our financing transactions and other legal and office work.

We are looking for a student in the late phase of their studies, who is able to work approximately 2 days per week. We would prefer that you have completed exams in company, property, contract and insolvency laws. An interest in finance law and earlier work experience in the financing sector as well as other transaction related work is considered a merit. You need to have good command of the Finnish and English languages, other language skills, such as French and Spanish, are considered an asset as they are spoken in many of our target countries. We encourage applicants from a diverse range of backgrounds.

The traineeship is part-time and runs for approximately ten months starting in August-September 2019 in Helsinki, with a possibility for summer work in 2020.
