New members to Finnfund’s governing bodies

Finnfund’s Annual General Meeting held on 22 April appointed new members to the Board of Directors and the Supervisory Board.

The Board of Director’s new chairperson is independent development banking specialist Robert Wihtol. Mr Wihtol takes over from Ms. Ritva Laukkanen who served two full terms. The new vice chair of the Board is Deputy Director-General Kristiina Kuvaja-Xanthopoulos from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

The new Board members are Hanna Loikkanen and Nicholas Anderson, who replace Ms. Laukkanen and Lars-Erik Schöring. Both Loikkanen and Anderson have extensive experience in international finance.

One new member was added to the Finnfund Supervisory Board in addition to the 12 members appointed on 2 December 2019. Juha-Erkki Mäntyniemi, Managing Director of Fingo (Finnish Development NGOs)

Development NGOs are one of Finnfund’s important stakeholders.

Finnfund’s Supervisory Board is composed of 13 members, elected by the Annual General Meeting for three years at a time. The Supervisory Board elects a chair and vice chair from among its members for one year at a time.
