PT Amartha Mikro Fintek

In brief

PT Amartha Mikro Fintek (“Amartha”) is Indonesia’s leading microfinance fintech, focusing on providing loans and other financial inclusion products to low-income households with limited or no access to financial services. It actively provides services in rural areas of the Indonesian archipelago, serving around 1.2 million rural female microentrepreneurs. By leveraging its Peer-to-Peer (P2P) fintech license Amartha connects retail and institutional investors with underserved borrowers. Finnfund’s senior loan will go to Inclusive Capital Fund Pte. Ltd., an SPV that will channel funding to Amartha’s customers.

Main development impact

100% of the loan proceeds are allocated to underserved rural female microentrepreneurs promoting financial inclusion and supporting women. In Indonesia, only 49% of rural women have access to formal financial services, and only 54% of working-age women participate in the labour force. Amartha’s mission is to connect rural women with the capital markets to access financial resources to grow their businesses and create employment opportunities.
