We are now looking for a
Legal Counsel/Senior Legal Counsel
for a full-time, permanent position in Helsinki.
What you will be doing
Finnfund is mandated to provide long-term financing for economically feasible private sector projects in emerging markets. At the end of 2022, Finnfund’s portfolio contained 191 investment decisions in 55 countries. Our financing is channeled either as debt, equity, or mezzanine instruments. We invest also through private equity funds. As a member of a project team your work will include structuring, preparing, and commenting on documentation, attending negotiations, instructing and managing external counsels and providing other legal assistance in relation to financing transactions.
Who we are looking for
An ideal candidate should have a (preferably Finnish or English) Master of Laws degree (or equivalent legal degree) and a minimum of 5 years of applicable professional experience from a law firm or financial institution. We require experience in fund investments, and consider experience in debt financing and/or equity investments as well as cross-border transactions as an asset.
Excellent writing and communication skills in English are a prerequisite, while fluency in other languages and international experience are considered an asset. A successful candidate for this position is a proactive person who has good teamwork skills, capability to take responsibility and full ownership of their work and is able to work independently under time pressure. In today’s hybrid working environment excellent ICT skills are required.
