We are now looking for a
Trainee
to Finnfund’s development impact team for a full-time, 8-month position in Helsinki. The trainee period is from 1 March 2023 to 31 October 2023 and it is possible to take (an unpaid) leave in July.
What you will be doing
The traineeship gives you a unique vantage point to development finance and impact investing. Finnfund’s development impact team is small but carries out a large variety of tasks including development impact measurement and management, carbon footprint calculation and gender equality assessments. You will work with both Finnfund’s investee companies in developing countries as well as with our investment teams internally.
As a trainee, you will
• Participate in the development of Finnfund’s annual development impact monitoring data collection, analysis and reporting
• Request monitoring data from Finnfund’s investee companies and communicate with the companies to ensure timely and quality reporting
• Verify data accuracy with senior team members
• Analyse and insert data into modelling tools
• Assist with other duties related to data management and analysis.
Who we are looking for
An ideal candidate for this position is a recent graduate with a bachelor’s degree or a master’s student. The position requires good written and oral English skills as well as proficiency in Excel and capacity to easily adopt new IT systems. Experience from or studies of developing economies as well as experience from the finance sector are considered an asset.
We value excellent team working skills and are looking for an active approach, an open mind and willingness to take on a broad range of tasks independently. A passion for numbers is a big plus in this position so if you really love working with Excel, this may be something for you!
